Love finds you in Humble Texas is a novel by Anita Higman about: Trudie Abernathy is a little inelegant and she’s never had much luck in love. To make matters worse, her thirtieth birthday is fast approaching and her sister, Lane, has decided to "treat" her to a makeover and a few blind dates. Trudie is about to protest, but then she meets the kind and handsome Mason Williamson. In spite of her humble manner, Mason finds her attractive, funny and smart. But Lane inexplicably pushes Trudie away from Mason and toward the other willing suitors. The makeover has transformed Trudie from ordinary into stunning but she isn’t sure how she feels about all the attention from men. Can Trudie stay true to her humble self and find her heart’s desire in the process? I enjoyed this book mostly because of how the author presents idea or writes the story. The words she used are intelligently chosen, and between those lines, you could get the idea of things worth reading and cherishing. I like the way the characters are developed and presented. Each character that comes, had its own way of developing and their past or reasons that made them who they are. It’s also good that the author used the style of giving the main characters a way to tell the readers what’s going on in their minds. You hear all three of them Trudie, Lane and Mason in an exact timing. I guess, the story is realistic, they’re really situations when siblings could fall in love with one man. The consequences of this are what you are about to read :0 Mrs. Higman writes this lightly and vividly described , letting the words come to real life. I laugh and cried hard for this one, I really felt the pain when you want someone, but you can’t have them because someone close to you want them too, and whatever decision you make, someone’s got to be hurt. The unpredictable behaviors and decisions of the characters prompt me to read on and on, and especially the funny but witty remarks scattered in this book..:D I also loved the cover, something in it tells me, to grab and read it! Recommended to all who wants to experience unconditional love without the necessity to be erotic nor hot, just true and sisterly. Be prepare to follow your hearts desire and to love HUMBLY! Our library reading group received this book from the author so we decided to all read it and do reviews:This was a very enjoyable read. Excellent characters with everyday problems that people searching for love encounter. The main character, Trudie, showed the inner feelings, and uncertainties of a person trying to find her place. I have read several other Love Finds You in... I felt there was really no special note of interest or uniqueness mentioned about Humble, Texas. Most of the time I felt I was reading a book that could have happened in many of our other large cities or a suburb. This could be a personal interest. I love history and geography. After I read the first several chapters, I looked up Humble, Texas in an atlas so I would have a reference point in my mind where the story was taking place. A good book and I would recommend it for anyone wanting to read something on the lighter side. Lavonne Sandersfeld Getting to know Trudie and her sister Lane along with Mason Wimberley, the man they both fell in love with, made for a very enjoyable book to read. Mason with all his good looks and charming ways attracted many women but he had eyes only for "discombobulated" Trudie who never had much luck in love. As the story unfolds I liked the family love between the two sisters and their relationship with God. It had a happy ending and left me feeling good. I would definitely recommend this book to a friend and hope to read other books by Anita Higman. Ruth Lindhart Cette critique a été rédigée pour LibraryThing Member Giveaways. Love Finds You In Humble, Texas, written by Anita Higman is a sweet religious romance. Trudie's sister, Lane, sets her up on a blind-date with Mason. Mason and Trudie have an instant connection. Later, Lane tells Trudie she has fallen in love with Mason. Even though she really likes Mason, Trudie backs away from him for her sister. Mason is confused, because he really likes Trudie, and decides to romance her. At the same time Trudie is trying to figure out what she really wants out of her life. What I loved most about the book was the emotion the characters showed. I had a hard time sympathizing with Lane, who set her sister up with Mason, and all of the sudden, asks Trudie to step back. Overall, it was a cute book and I would read Ms Higman again. This is the first book I've read in the "Love Finds You" Series and have found it to be a most enjoyable read. This is more than a romance - it's an expression of the love one has for family. The main characters, Trudie and Lane Abernathy, and Mason Wimberley, will have to make some of the most important decisions of their life and will draw upon their faith and love for others to make these decisions selfless. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

I liked Mason as a person. He was very sincere, romantic and thought things through. He didn't give up on Trudie, saw the best in her and helped her see her potential and "go for it". He was also very sensitive to Lane and her feelings. It was a "love triangle" and I enjoyed myself watching everything unfold and come to a satisfying conclusion. This is one of my favorites in the "Love Finds You in . . . series". ( )
