lquilter: Terry Brooks' Armageddon's Children is basically a YA post-apocalyptic gathering of the forces, much like Stephen King's adult-fiction version, The Stand. Il a suffi d’une minuscule erreur dans un laboratoire ultrasecret des Etats-Unis, en cette belle journée d’été, pour que le fléau se répande sur toute la surface de la planète… Le virus, échappé par erreur du laboratoire semble au début être une variante mortelle de la grippe avec un taux de mortalité de 99,4%. Autant dire que très vite, la surface de la terre se retrouve entièrement dépeuplée, à l’exception de quelques survivants isolés. Ces survivants aux caractères très différents les uns des autres ont cependant tous un point commun. Ils rêvent. Les uns voient dans leurs songes une vieille noire de 108 ans, mère Abigaël et les autres l’homme en noir, alias Randall Flag. C’est ainsi que vont se créer deux communautés distinctes, qui, guidées par leurs rêves, se retrouvent pour la moitié à Boulder, Colorado et l’autre moitié à Las Vegas, Nevada.
