Heidi, a girl of the majestic Swiss Alps, finds beauty and simple wisdom in nature. Living in virtual isolation with her eccentric Grandfather, Heidi develops a special feeling for the plants and animals she finds in the hills and valleys. But her life suddenly changes when she must live in the city. There she befriends an invalid girl and makes new friends. But Heidi grows homesick for her mountain life. Her adventures in her alpine home and with her city friends will bring tears and smiles and warm your heart. The Great Illustrated Classics versions are never as good as the originals, and this one is no exception. It's not overly bad, but a lot was taken out or changed to adapt it to an easier reading level, and it changed the tone of the book a lot. Again, not bad, but not something I would recommend over the original. Summary: Heidi is a Orphaned girl who lived with her aunt Dete until her aunt decides she wants to concentrate on her career. Heidi then goes to live with her Grandfather who lives in a alpine cottage in Germany but he mistrusts the world. Heidi goes on to live with different people and learn new things in the process. Personal Reaction: This book is great it can teach so much to someone who is constantly moving place to place. Classroom Extension Ideas: 1. Make a Map of places Heidi has been. 2. A crossword of the different family members Heidi has. 3. Coloring page of Heidi herself. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
