( ) Deadpool vs. the Skrulls, the Zombies, the Mercs and anyone else who annoys him. Disclaimer. I am not a follower of the Marvel Universe. I was devoted to Spiderman in my youth, Superman annoyed me. As a mother of young boys, I began watching the Marvel movies and have enjoyed them. Now my boys are all grown up and have introduced me to the X-men, Wolverine (swoon) and Deadpool through the movies. The Deadpool movie was so out there, I wanted to see what the comics were like, so picked this up out of curiosity. It has been an interesting experience. I enjoyed the art work. The comic is cleaner in content than the movie, but not as funny. It made a nice break between books on a Saturday afternoon. The Secret Invasion crossover has been less than epic compared to other Marvel events, and this is especially noticeable when reading the tie-ins. They are all padded, sometimes extensively, with unrelated material because the Secret Invasion part for the character/series is so short. Deadpool is no exception. This book is only 136 pages and half of that is unrelated to the event. Deadpool plays a small but critical role in the invasion. He is responsible for getting the information that will bring down the Skrull queen. The first half of this trade covers that mission. As can be expected from the Merc with the Mouth, there is a lot of humor - in particular from Deadpool conversing with his brain. When he surrenders to the Skrulls, they get more than they bargained for. The second half is a totally separate adventure wherein Deadpool takes on a job related to zombies. Yes, zombies. It was a fun little story but I was disappointed that Deadpool's involvement in the invasion didn't have more substance. It would have made more sense to combine this story with his Thunderbolts/Dark Reign story into one volume since they are directly related (instead of releasing that in a separate, tiny little trade as well). Overall, if you're fan of Deadpool or a Secret Invasion completest, this is worth reading though it's definitely not worth full retail price. Readers can skip it without missing anything important to the crossover, but Deadpool is enjoyable for his own sake. Recommended. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
The Skrulls are here and everything's gone topsy-turvy but, in Deadpool's world, that just means it's Monday! Like it or not, Deadpool may be the only person on the planet who can save us - but who's to say he wants to? Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
