{My thoughts} – Claudia is a fun and quirky character. In this book we get to learn more about her and her family. School is ending for the year and Claudia is having problems remembering the things that she needs to know for her end of year tests. She isn’t really enjoying this part of the school year and she isn’t a fan of all the pressure that her parents are putting her under. They seem to think that she needs to be as smart as her older sister Janine that only seems to study.

Claudia has an argument with her sister and her grandma steps in and then she says something she isn’t proud of to her grandma. After that is said and done her grandma suffers from a stroke the same night and Claudia blames herself. Her older sister distances herself from the entire situation.

While their grandma is getting better Claudia is the one that helps out the most. Her sister seems to not have an interest in helping, but that doesn’t seem to be the case at all. The Baby-Sitters Club is running a summer play group, but Claudia is too busy to help out with it because she is always helping with her grandma. I am glad she chose to help with her grandma over the play group. Family is extremely important.

I really enjoyed reading this addition to the series. I look forward to reading the next book in the series very soon! ( )

This is one of the books in the comic book series of the babysitters club. The characters and storylines are sure to appeal to young girls and I love the way it deals with real topics like family illness and sibling differences. The characters are dimensional and often positive role models. I would have in classroom library for 3rd-5th. ( )

I really do love diving into this quicker reads. I read the baby-sitters books so long ago. but i thought this book was very fun and heartwarming and it tackled some harder issues including grandparents getting older and also complicated sisters relationships and it was rather fun read. I always love the graphic style and also the focus on their summer business plan. It was a fun read, will try and tackle them more in the future. ( )

When I was in 6th grade, I accidentally walked out of the library without checking this book out. The scanner thing didn't beep for some reason, and I got so anxious wondering if I should walk back in there to check the book out that I just didn't because I was so scared of the scanner actually going off. Me today would've walked right back in and check it out, but ah well. The book is still sitting on the bottom shelf of the children's books section in our study. Maybe I'll just like walk back into the middle school someday and try to give it back? Eep! ( )
