A very useful tool to help one discover a way for them to memorize whole books of scripture. The author is inspiring in sharing her journey on the subject. Also points out the reason behind memorizing scripture and how to do it in a way where you are getting the meaning behind God's word and actually applying it to your life. Not just memorizing for the sake of it. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

"The Bible does not command us to memorize Scripture... Spending quality time in God's Word leads us to a greater knowledge of God, and memorizing is one productive way to achieve that. The goal of memorizing should not be confused with the ultimate goal of knowing God and loving Him." (p 27)
The book itself is a quick read (apart from the memorization exercises), but I still felt it could have been condensed. It was a bit repetitive here and there. But, it's a worthwhile read that will encourage and challenge those who read it - if not to memorize Scripture, then at least to regularly read and meditate on it!
"As God renews our minds with Scripture, we begin to think biblically so that we can live biblically. Thinking biblically presupposes Bible knowledge. Without it you have no filter, and nothing to weigh your options against. You cannot come up with God's perspective without understanding God's thoughts expressed in His Word." (p 122)
I think it would be most beneficial for use in a small group. ( )
