Evidence turns up in Cade's own truck, and suddenly he becomes the number-one suspect. Cade tries to clear his name, but when eighteen-year-old Sadie Caruso disappears, tensions mount to a fever pitch. Can Cade find the real killer before Sadie winds up dead? Is the novelist a demented killer, or a hapless victim? And what does Sadie's own mother have to do with the crimes? Will the consequences of Sheila's life be fatal, or is there redemption and mercy for her and her children? A cape refuge teenager is dead - then another body is found - will Sadie Caruso be the next to die?

Book IV (Cape Refuge Series)

I wish I had known that this was book 4 of a series. I found the characters confusing because I did not know the history behind them. The story was too predictable. The more the finger pointed to a suspect the more sure I was that it was a false lead. The relationships were nice, but I just couldn’t connect with any of the characters. Not a bad read, just not her best. ( )

Blackstock, Terri, Breaker's Reef, religious - When a famous mystery writer moves to Cape Refuge, ex-con Sheila Caruso mom to Sadie n Caleb - is hired to type for him. Police chief Cade a cop finds a murdered girl, but situation is a copy-cat of a scene from one of the novels - characters not entirely believable, but continuity from a series is good. ( )
