Elderedge defines successful fathering as words of affirmation combined with love. Although these are important, they fall short of a biblical worldview. Successful fathering is leading my family to Jesus. Elderedge does present the value of gospel in relationships, but misrepresents it as being primarily about healing broken family relationships. The gospel may bring that about, but it is primarily about restoring my relationship to God by forgiving my sins, and thus bringing God the glory he deserves. This short booklet gave me a couple helpful hints, but it will not serve as serious source on fathering from a biblical point of view. ( ) aucune critique | ajouter une critique
In You Have What It Takes, Eldredge gives fathers a look inside both themselves and their sons and daughters, encouraging them to give their children permission to be who God designed them to be. Every boy wants to be a hero. He wants to be powerful, dangerous. He wants to know... Do I have what it takes? Every girl wants to believe that she is captivating, worth fighting for. She wants to know... Am I lovely? Only you, Dad, can help your children find the answer to those questions. That makes you the most powerful man in your child's life. And as you will learn in this inspiring book, You Have What It Takes. Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
