It's got pretty much everything in it: magic (the negative dangerous kind), betrayal, rae, murder, violence against children, mob ars, and to top it all off the anti-christ. Thank god Constantine's luck holds and he managed to off the little demonspawn before his "father" actually turns him into the next Messiah for demonkind. Even though this was one of my least favourite Constantine graphic novels due to the storyline, I really enjoyed John Higgins' artistic style. There are moments of darkness and despair where the colouring reflects the negative aspects of the story, but these are offset by normal colour schemes and some that are strangely golden. Unfortunately, these don't seem to correspond properly with the story, but I found them to be more aesthetically pleasing than some of the previous artistic styles from the series. While I loved Ennis's story arc for this one, I did find the running monologue and Constantine's occasional turn to the reader and breaking the fourth wall distracting. It wasn't bad enought to break the story, but it was noticible, and detracted from total immersion in the tale. In addition, the tone of some of the art doesn't have the right feel for a Hellblazer story, particularly this artist's reimagining of Constantine himself as having more chiseled, cleaner features. In my mind, Constantine shouldn't have his rough edges smoothed and the effects of hard living softened. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

John Constantine's pulled a lot of shady stunts over the years, but perhaps none as bad as the time he 'resurrected' organized crime boss Harry Cooper's 5-year-old son, Ronnie. Now, 15 years later, he's got to deal with the ungodly consequences of his actions. Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |

Overall, a good story full of twisted characters and events. Just not too memorable. ( )
