( ) Oh, gosh, more Casson craziness than I can begin to explain! Rose and Indigo are sad because Tom went back to America and hasn’t written or called, Caddy is conflicted about the gorgeous diamond and platinum engagement ring she accepted from Darling Michael, and Saffron is suddenly determined to find out who her biological father is. These characters continue to delight. Read this series if you enjoy character-driven juvenile fiction; I’d recommend it to adults as well as children. Start with Saffy’s Angel to get the full effect. Sequel to "Saffy's Angel" and "Indigo's Star." This series of books about the Casson family focuses on 8-year-old Rose. The family had befriended young Tom, an American visitor to England, over the summer but his sudden departure for a family emergency has left Rose bereft. She waits everyday for the postman, hoping for a letter from Tom. When the phone rings, she thinks it's Tom. She even goes to Tom's grandmother's house but she's gone, too. In her drawings and dreams, she imagines a reunion with Tom. Then Rose has a sudden opportunity to fly to New York City with her father. She's convinced she'll see Tom again so family friends Sarah and David rush desperately to find Tom's contact info and let him know that Rose is coming. The British humor and feel of this story made this hard to really like at first, but I got more involved as the stakes rose with Saffy's hunt for her father and Rose's need to see Tom. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
