The Day the Teacher went Bananas is a trade book about a class's new teacher, who leads the children in a number of popular activities, turns out to be a gorilla. The illustrations are very detailed and filled with lots of colors. The colors are very soft and blend well with each other. Teachers can use this book in the classroom by reading it as a fun activity. It is a book that is filled with laughter and smiles. A new teacher shows up at school, but something is different. The teacher grunts instead of talking, math was done by using toes, we scribbled instead of writing and went outside for Science. Lunch was the craziest, when the teacher ate 16 bananas! But then the fun ended when the real teacher showed up and tells the class the other teacher was really a gorilla! The next day the children had a field trip to the zoo to visit their favorite teacher. The questions I would ask would be: In this story, what are some of the silly things that happen? Could these things happen in the school? Do you think you could eat 16 bananas at lunch? This is a sweet modern fantasy story about a teacher getting sent to the zoo in place of a gorilla, and the gorilla getting sent ot the teacher's classroom. While nothing like this would ever really happen, it is fun for children to think creatively about what it would be like to have a gorilla as a teacher. This story also engages readers by showing them the creativity the children possess when learning with the gorilla. Sometimes, it takes a change of scenery or pace to think in imaginative ways. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
