Great characters, and fun insights into Anne of Green Gables. This book inspired me to reread Anne--I forgot how great it is! And I just love this mother-daughter series. ( )

The mean "queen bee" of middle school gets invited to the book club which is a nice way to illustrate how we can look past prickly exteriors to make friends anyway. There's a family farm to be saved in this installment, and Megan puts on a fashion show that gives her a hand up in her pursuit of a career in fashion design. It's nice to see Jess' mom back in the picture. ( )

Much Ado About Anne By: Heather Vogel Frederick is the sequel to the Mother Daughter Book Club. This time, the girls are faced with a bigger than big problem. The Delany family is going to have to sell Half Moon Farm! Jess doesn’t want to move from the home she has lived in her whole life and the book club is ready to help her. When a field trip gone wrong gives the girls and the Fab Three time to think, they decide to put on a show to save Half Moon Farm. Can they do it? With Megan designing, Emma writing, and Cassidy and Jess modeling, lots of things can happen. But can they get the fashion show or will the idea walk right off the cat walk? Off the stage, Cassidy’s mom is dating again! He’s a bald headed accountant and Cassidy hates him. Can she learn to like him?
I loved the sequel to the Mother Daughter Book Club not only because the girls were faced with more problems, but because the girls get creative in fixing them. I know that a tween run fashion show would never work in real life, but it was fun to see it work for them. It was also nice to see the support of the town. I envied the Delany’s as I real the the book. They are lucky to have such supportive friends and cool ideas. This book is definitely a must-read if you want a little more of the MDBC. ( )

I read this book because it was the second book in the mother daughter book club. Both my daughter and I had read the first in the series and I enjoyed it. I decided to read this one. I didn't enjoy this one as much as the first one. The idea of having a mother-daughter book club is a great idea. I could see myself recommending this book to readers between 9-12 years old. If a parent was looking for a book read with her daughter, this would be a good series begin with.

I liked this one better than the first one, though to be perfectly frank, I don't much like 7th grade girls. And these girls are very true-to-life in ways that make me glad I had a boy. The drama would have been too much for me. The drama in this book was almost too much for me. Onward! ( )
