"FOOD! Some is fashionable and famous, some is fun and fabulous. But all of it is an absolute necessity.Mind you, not every youngster you may care to speak to on the subject will agree that a plate of boiled broccoli or Brussels sprouts is his or her idea of heaven on a plate. Nor will the average Aussie agree that stewed sheep's eyes as an entree are pure bliss. But 9 out of 10 will unanimously concur that a steak and kidney pie with buttered mashed potatoes and peas is good for the soul. Roast leg of lamb, or a wing rib with baked pumpkin and gravy made from the pan juices, is comforting on a winter's evening. Our foods, as well as our appreciation for them, is as sophisticated as any in the world. And our interest in what we eat has become a national hobby. Which is why I have put together this encyclopedia of food. Now if someone asks you what is the difference between Ceylonese tea and Green tea, you can turn to the appropriate page to learn the answer. You'll now be able to learn the fascinating history of spices and whether or not Beef Stroganoff has onions in its make up and, indeed, who Stroganoff was anyway".… (plus d'informations)
