This chapter book is a level three scholastic chapter book and is appropriate for the beginner reader that is ready for a challenge. This book has simple language mixed with complex context based vocabulary. This book is great for readers that enjoy animals and informational texts over make believe stories. Second and third grade readers would enjoy this book. ( ) This early chapter book was fairly difficult so I would recommend this book for primary-aged readers that are closer to third grade or are advanced in their reading. This book is about the types of animals that are in Africa and each page gives a description of different animals such as elephants and hyenas with a little bit of information about them and the connections they have to other animals. This book has a lot of information in it so it would be helpful to use it throughout the span of a few days in your classroom as the text is fairly challenging due to its complex vocabulary words, definitions, and length of the text. Animals of Africa explores the continent of Africa. It also tells about the differnt animals found in Africa and the places where they live and what they eat. It gives information on the land aresa found throughout Africa. I enjoyed reading this book because I learned alot especially about how the Dromedary camels can store fat and can survive for days without water. This book is also colorful and containes lots of beautiful pictures. Use this book to read when talking about animals in risk of extinction, read when talking about deserts, and can put in science area so that children can do a picture quest. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
