This story brought us the phrase "I think I can I think I can I think I can". Many boys and girls have used this phrase themselves when trying to complete a difficult task. The fun pictures and different qualities displayed by the different engines can be interpreted in several different ways, but in the end, this is a story about determination and self-confidence that all children will love. Soon, "I think I can I think I can I think I can" will be a commonplace saying in your home! I liked this book. I enjoyed the illustrations of the different engines’ facial expressions. The illustrations coincided with the story because the facial expressions matched with their answer to whether or not they would pull the other train with toys and food up the mountain. I liked the characters in the book. The clown who is normally silly was serious and asking for help in order to get over the mountain. The main idea of this story is that not everyone is willing to help others, but that does not mean no one is willing to help. The toy's train can't make it up the hill, so a new engine has to try to move them along. The engine keeps chanting to itself, "I think I can, I think I can" until finally he makes it up and over the hill. I remember my grandmother reading this story to me as a child. I've always loved it. My mother, a high school geometry teacher, once used this book in her class. She was tired of hearing her students complain about how hard the lessons were, so she had story time and read this book to her classes. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
