Sort of wierd story of agoraphobic aromatherapist Stella who lives in an ordered and tightly controlled flat with her lover, Ivan, who has clients that visit from home and has her life nice and neat. Then it got wierd. Ivan has money stashed. Is he involved in drugs? The underworld? And what's up with Stella's sister Skye? Stella freaks out when Ivan begins to wear a bracelet from an old lover. OK, odd, not great. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
In her spotless top floor flat Stella has created the ultimate cocoon. her life is as perfectly ordered as the phials in her treatment room, where her patients have come to depend on her healing hands, as strictly inventoried as the contents of her rucksack, always ready by the door in case she needs to make a quick getaway. But she never ventures out; everything comes to her. Even men. When Ivan moved in he was told- no stories from the past, no unnecessary anecdotes, no questions. But can Stella keep her own rules? Yellow is the colour of gas, of fear, of jealousy. And Stella has smelt something in the air that she cannot control. Ivan's history, her sister's light-hearted despatches from the outside world, even her cat's fidelity - everything is up for questioning. Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |

Stella Lewis is an agoraphobic aromatherapist. She sees clients in her home because she finds it impossible to even go to the bottom of the stairs in the building where her flat is located. One day she finds a bracelet belonging to her boyfriend Ivan, with an inscription on it that brings out all her paranoia and insecurities.
The story is told in the first person and covers about a week in Stella's life. It has sinister undertones as Stella becomes obsessed with finding out more about the person behind the inscription, going to some extraordinary lengths to get information.
I liked the writing style in this novel and found it to be a quick, but quite complex read. ( )
