Turns out I don’t care for the gruesome and hard stories on rereading. They are very effective, but I don’t have the spoons for them right now. ( ) Published by Penguin for their 60th anniversary, these three short stories have not previously appeared in any of Sara Paretsky's other collections. The first and best of these is 'A Taste of Life'. It tells of a compulsive eater who eventually consumes something that she really shouldn't have. Crime or horror? You decide. The second and longest tale is a Raymond Chandler take-off called 'Dealer's Choice',which had moments of the original. The third,'The Man Who Loved Life', seemed to be a form of social morality tale rather than a story pure and simple and as I dislike being preached at in works of fiction it was just not for me at all. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
