( ) I'm glad I've read reviews that state that Bones of the Dragon is not as good as Weis and Hickman's other work, because after listening to this one I wouldn't have bothered reading anything else by them. Yes, it was obvious in the last CD, number 16, that Skylan is supposed to have his character redeemed. I spent so much of the book despising him and hated one event in CD 15 so much that I don't care. Skylan Ivorson is an arrogant ass, chieftain's son of a Vindrasi tribe, the Torgun, blessed by Torval, god of War, and extremely foolish. Skylan, Aylaen, and Garn, his closest friends are thrust together in an adventure to retrieve the Vektan Torque which was given to the ogres, by Horg, Chief of the Vindrasi Nation. The ogres bring news that the Vindrasi gods are dead and that the gods of Raj are the wave of the future. Skylan and company know that their gods are besieged, but the battle isn't over yet. This is book one of their adventures. This has more of the feel of a historical fantasy at the start, as it is heavily based on Vikings. It is however definitely fantasy, as the Vindrasi quickly run into ogres, and their world starts to fall apart as they get caught up in a war between gods. I enjoyed parts of this, though other parts, like the obvious Arthurian love triangle, were too common. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
