Morris the Moose meets up with other animals in the forest and he tries to convince them that they are all just like him! Then the animals try to convince Morris that he is just like them! In the end, they realize they are all unique animals, and Morris realizes that he made a "moosetake"! Moose encounters a cow, and claims it to be a moose, using common animal body parts in his logic. They take up the discussion with a deer, who claims the cow to be a deer, using the same logic. And also claims Moose to be a deer, too. They take up the discussion with a horse, who thinks all of them are horses. Morris, the cow, and the deer all stop to get a drink of water and see their reflections in the water, realizing they don't look like each other after all. Summary: This book is about a Moose named Morris. Morris comes to a cow and tries to convince the cow that it is a Moose like Morris. Morris is very persistent with the Cow so they decide to ask the Deer if the Cow is a Moose or not. The Deer thinks the Cow and Morris the Moose are Deer. They go to ask another animals opinion but stop to get a drink of water first. Once they see their reflection off the water, then they realize they all look different. Response: It is a very cute and funny book. Connection: Great beginning book for kids to read in a small group or on their own.
