The art of needlecraft requires patience, discipline, and creativity. So too does the art of detection. Just ask Betsy Devonshire, who's learning that life in a small-town needlecraft shop can reveal an unexpected knack for knittingâ??and a hidden talent for unraveling crime.

Betsy Devonshire has settled into her new home in Excelsior, Minnesota, as owner of the town's needlecraft shop. So why is she suffering from terrifying nightmares? She hasn't a clue but thinks it might help to get away for a while. With her friend Jill in tow, she heads north for a "stitch-in" at a remote, rustic lodge. But her nightmares only get worseâ??especially after she finds a dead woman no one else had seen. And when the body disappears, she knows she won't get any rest until she untangles the mysterious threads of the crime… (plus d'informations)

These are all nice little cozy mysteries, set in a small town in Minnesota. Betsy Devonshire inherited a needlecraft shop when her sister was murdered and she keeps getting pulled into mysteries.
In this one, Betsy goes Up North to attend a stitch-in with her friend Officer Jill. Betsy stumbles upon a body and though she doesn't want it to be, it just might be murder. This takes place at Naniboujou lodge, which is a place that I have been, so it was fun to imagine the action happening in this setting. I really appreciate how accurate Ferris is with her settings!! I liked this one from the beginning. Betsy decides she needs to get away and goes to an isolated resort to attend a stitch-in with Jill. I love learning all these aspects of needle work that I didn't know about. Like her last book, the mystery is slow to reveal itself, but I don't care. I enjoy just spending time with these characters. ( )

I'll be honest, when I started reading this one I thought to myself,"haven't I read this one before?" Turns out, it's similar to Mary Dahiem's [b: Snow Place to Die|1225136|Snow Place to Die (Bed-and-Breakfast, #13)|Mary Daheim|https://d2arxad8u2l0g7.cloudfront.net/books/1388985005s/1225136.jpg|1213647] in that the setting is similar, a murder occurs and solving it ensues... ;]

This was a fun one with lots of talk of needle crafting- so, if you do any of the needle arts, you will enjoy it, if you don't- you might like it for the mystery alone. There were plenty of suspects and I really like the way Monica weaves the red herrings into the story line- they DON'T stand out. Which makes the mystery all the more fun. ( )

This is the first book I've read by this author. I enjoyed the characters, but not being a needleworker I was not into the background of the story.

I did enjoy the basic plot of the person who was/wasn't there and the puzzle of solving it all.

I do plan to read other books she has written, to get a better taste of her style. ( )

Betsy Devonshire is having nightmares and decides she needs to take a break from her needlework shop. She and her police officer friend Jill travel to a stitch in in northern Minnesota. There Betsy discovers the body of a woman that no one else even remembers seeing at the hotel. A light mystery. ( )
