The message shows the process of a young child loosing a tooth. It relates to many children loosing their tooth for the first time for their nice big teeth coming in as they grow older. The book could be used in Kindergarten to show relevance to children their age loosing tooth and how the character reacts. Many children will be able to relate how scary it is and how much it hurts to loose a tooth.

After reading this story to my students I would allow them time to go back and write about the time they lost their tooth and if they have not lost any teeth then to come up with a story talking about how they think they might loose their first tooth. Some of my students should be able to relate to the story and make connections which will make them more interested. ( )
