This follow-up to the successful adaptation of the 9/11 Report falls flat. The chronology is incredibly hard to follow. Seemingly irrelevant details are thrown in (did Ronald Reagan or Pope John Paul II's deaths really impact the "War on Terror"?). Basic facts are completely wrong (Hurricane Katrina did not make landfall on August 7). There's no cohesion at all.

But most frustrating is the lack of consistency in the artwork. Sometimes people are drawn life-like, while other times those same people are drawn as if they were cartoons. It might be understandable if, say, President Bush was always lampooned by being drawn as a cartoon, but the book seems to switch from one style to another -- sometimes even on the same page -- without any obvious reason. It's too bad, as the first book was well worth reading, but this one isn't. ( )
