Sorry I couldn't finish it. It was creepy in a weird way. Once the entries from SLL started I was like ewww, no thanks. If I want to read about periods I'll read [b:Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret|37732|Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret|Judy Blume|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1255655175s/37732.jpg|4121]. If it was set in California and there was less super wierdness, this might have went somewhere for me, but I gave up 3/4ths of the way through, I just didn't care about Sandy's issues or the dead girl.... now i'm kind of scared to read [b:Shine|8928054|Shine|Lauren Myracle|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1294346503s/8928054.jpg|13804537] and [b:Peace, Love, and Baby Ducks|5711749|Peace, Love, and Baby Ducks|Lauren Myracle|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1305492464s/5711749.jpg|5883360] which were both on my list to read.... aucune critique | ajouter une critique

The premise of the book was easy to follow and made for a really quick read. I quite enjoyed the creepy vibes it gave and liked learning about the different characters. For me, those creepy vibes are what strung the book together and made for a book I did not want to put down. I did, however, think that there were a lot of extra details, especially regarding the hippie commune and racist behavior in Atlanta that were glossed over but still strung through the entire novel, which at times felt out of place with the rest of the book.
If the story had been left as just a creepy ghost story, it would have been great, but the way that racism was tied into the book, combined with a complete lack of addressing it left me feeling a little icky. ( )
