But I do like Eve Merriam's poetry, and poetry is more accessible to children when set up so there's a picture for every line. This is especially true when it's an older poem and the children might not know about pickaxes, plaster, chimneys, etc. I thought it was neat that this poem had both vocabulary words like those, and words that pre-readers can actually learn themselves, for example 'bam' (of course) and then 'slam' and the delightful 'zam.' I also think it's a book that I wouldn't mind re-reading to the children, assuming my prediction is correct that they would ask me to do so.
An exuberant celebration of construction and the noise and confusion that accompany it.
In this noisy poem, a wrecking ball demolishes old houses and stores to make way for a skyscraper. Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
