An interesting spin on the Batman mythos from the Elseworlds point of view, meaning that it is not in the "true Batman's real world", as interpreted by Howard Chaykin, who always has a saucy way of getting his stories across and Dan Brereton's painted artwork. A very pretty book with attractive characters, the story could have been stretched out into at least a 12 issue series. I think this was only 4 or six issues long originally. I've always liked both Howard Chaykin and Dan Brereton so this one is a true favorite. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
"A new edition of the classic, fan favorite 90s Elseworlds tale, BATMAN: THRILLKILLER, is back after years out of print! In Elseworlds, heroes are taken from their usual settings and put into strange times and places--some that have existed or might have existed, and others that can't, couldn't or shouldn't exist. This is one of those stories. The year is 1961, a time of transition between the fifties--the decade of Ike, McCarthyism and Jack Kerouac--and the dawn of the Sexual Revolution, the Vietnam War and turning on, tuning in and dropping out. Like the rest of the United States, Gotham City is filled with giddy optimism. And no one could guess at the dark days that lie ahead--especially her two masked defenders Batgirl and Robin!! For them, the joyride is about to end... and the last stop is Death! This fully painted volume presents a crime-fighting duo whose hunger for excitement leads to tragedy, as a female Joker ruthlessly plays the police off Batman"-- Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |

Comic is part of DC's series Elseworlds, which they describe as "heroes taken from their usual settings and put into strange times and places-- some that have existed or might have existed, and others that can't, couldn't or shouldn't exist." This comic definitely accomplishes that putting the characters we know in very different conditions. ( )
