His bibliography (about 40 pages!) is mind-boggling, and his endnotes are often overwhelming. Yet, somehow his text flows smoothly, and his arguments are easy to follow. He challenges many conservative evangelical beliefs on the role of women in ministry and the home, but his arguments are impressive and difficult to refute. Even if one doesn't reach the same conclusions in all details, this book is a must read on Paul's letters and women's roles in today's culture. As with all his works, Keener will make his readers evaluate whether their beliefs are based more on the Bible or simply tradition. ( ) aucune critique | ajouter une critique
". . . for those struggling to understand Paul's full purposes for women, in his time and ours, Paul, Women, and Wives will prove to be `must' reading. Keener's comprehensive bibliography and literature review is alone worth the price of the book." -Robert K. Johnston, North Park Seminary" Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
