The title story of this collection (like the rest of the contents, dating from the late 1980s/early 1990s) is a chilling piece of social commentary, dressed up as a tale of the tabloid newspaper business, the resurrection of pulp cartoon characters and neo-Fascist politics. Other stories reflect the concerns of the time; I especially rate Gargantuabots vs. the Nice Mice. ( )
