This is an extremely important reference book for our time. The Earth’s ecosystems (oceans, grasslands, mountains) are examined through readable text and beautiful illustrations, highlighting the interdependence of people, animals, and the environment. Index.

Highly visual format that will appeal to a variety of different learning styles. The text examines ecosystems and biomes around the world, and explains how climate change affects these different habitats. Includes special features such as easy-to-understand facts and figures, supporting diagrams and maps that illustrate important concepts, and the outstanding photography that DK is known for. The "Making a difference" activities that conclude each chapter offer readers practical ways in which they can take action in their own communities and get involved in environmental stewardship. ( )
