This book has beautiful pictures from nature that bring the colors alive. It shows that you can find colors anywhere! I like the real and colorful photos in this book. I would use this book with PK-1st graders, durning a unit on colors. They can look at the different shades and try to make paint shades that match, they could cut out pictures that match the colors. Another wonderful picture book by the company PlayBac, this one uses the creative composition and juxtapositions of its photographs to explore the world of color. The colors are featured on two-page spreads, with big bold font, labeled photographs, and limited rhyming text. The main feature is visual, with lovely photographs that powerfully present the colorful world of nature. Multiple samples of natural features are selected to present the chosen color, displaying the creative array of shades one can find. For instance, the color tan is represented by sand dunes, a camel, and a Labrador retriever, among other pictures. Most of the colors also have chains that lay out a range of shades of that color; on the green spread, the colors slide from grass green to to . The book ends with a couple of pages of multicolored flowers and butterflies and fish. The presentation is creative and appealing. There are so many beautiful photographs that my eyes jump from place to place in an effort to take it all in. I feel like I need to soak in the lovely colors. As with other books in this series, the format juxtaposes odd animals and plants and natural features that bear surprising similarities in their color. The book demonstrates that the natural world is a gorgeous place. The proof of the quality of the book is in my children, who are content to stare at the pages and read the book over and over. My youngest especially likes the last page, with its multicolored fish. This is a great book, with high production value and creative layout, that will keep children interested even as it educates them. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
