While trying out the spy glasses, spy hat, and other items in their new spy kit, Henry and his dog Mudge make a new friend and form a spy club.

I have a lot of respect for Henry's mom. In some ways I want to be her, with a big porch & yard & trees, and long dresses and bare feet - but I don't want a huge slobbery dog, thank you. ( )

Henry and Mudge are so much fun to read about! Carefully crafted simplicity in the story telling as well as the illustrations. A great book for the beginning reader. ( )
