This SciFi book can be a good introduction to bigger chapter books which can teach reading and comprehension skills. This books tells the story of James going through the hardship of living with his mean, abusive aunts. He soon finds life long friendship in a magical peach. I would recommend this book to early middle school grades as a beginning chapter book.

this is a classic by roald dahl. this was one of my favorites when i was growing up, and i also loved the movie based on this book. i remember checking this book out from my school's library and never giving it back. roald dahl books are filled with so much fantasy, fun, and adventure. ( )

I love this book. It follows the story of a young boy named James, who goes through life after losing his parents and finds a place to call home. This book is good to show students that no matter what, there will always be a place where they are loved and never alone. And also the importance of individuality and persistence. ( )

I read this almost all the way through last night and finished it up this morning. Such a fun story! I'm looking forward to reading it with my 11 year old son, Liam, soon. ( )
