Published twice a year, Landfall is New Zealand's foremost and longest-running arts and literary journal. It showcases new fiction, poetry, biographical and critical essays, as well as cultural commentary. Landfall 225 focuses on Auckland writers and writing about Auckland. Verbal and visual snapshots open this exciting and exuberant issue and a strong Auckland strand runs through to the review section. Well-known literary artists - including Paula Green, Daren Kamali, Murray Edmond, Stephanie Christie, and more - will take readers on journeys to Bethells, Otara, St. Lukes, Remuera's northern slopes, and Greenlane. The issue is essay-rich, and includes 'Landfall Essay Competition 2012' runner-up Majella Cullinane. Also, there are poems and/or fiction from Peter Bland, Riemke Ensing, Cilla McQueen, Owen Marshall, Emma Neale, and others. Landfall 225 features photography portfolios from Harvey Benge and emerging artist Greta Anderson, along with back-page graphic art by Samantha Michell - all are Auckland-based artists. And, the 'Landfall Review' section features a number of recent books, including a poetry collection by the German refugee Karl Wolfskehl - an Auckland-based contemporary of Frank Sargeson - which has been published by Holloway Press.
