Anakin Skywalker was like any other nine year old kid on Tatooine. Most of his life he and his mom were being a slave on Tatooine. They live with their master Watto that owns a shop that sells old ship parts. But a few strange looking people named Jar Jar Binks, Padme, and a jedi named Qui-Gon entered the store and that is when things got a bit strange. They were looking for parts for their ship, but they didn’t have the money for the parts. So Qui-Gon and Watto made a deal if Andiken won the local pod race they would get the parts for free, but if he lost Watto keeps their ship. After Anakin won the race they repaired the ship and helped defend the people of Naboo for the trade federation.

I think the Star Wars journal is a great book because it has a lot of action and adventure in it. All of the characters in the book have great descriptive words that tell what the are like. My favorite part of the book was when they were pod racing on Tatooine. The worst part was when Qui-Gon died in Naboo. The funniest part was when Anakin was flying the star fighter. This is one of the best books I’ve read. If you like a book that takes place in a different galaxy then this is the book for you. ( )

The story keeps the readers engaged through the plot development. The main character, Anakin Skywalker is a nine-year-old slave on the planet of Tatooine. A creature named Watto owns him, but he earns his freedom by winning a race. One day, a Jedi appears and tells Anakin he is to be a Jedi too. He has to prove himself to the council, which he does in battle. The story is filled with space creatures and imaginable discoveries. One needs to use their imagination to connect and appreciate the story. Media: This book is a good example of photographs because the pages include a few direct reproductions of scenes from the movie, Star Wars I. ( )
