A view into a bygone age. There was one event near the end that felt a little contrived, but overall the plot was well-handled and the slow pace added conviction. ( ) Borrowed from the shelves of our holiday cottage in Whitby this was much the sort of fare I expected: somewhat romantic historical fiction. It made a nice change that the lead character was a man though, and the class tensions running through the book made a good backdrop to the story. Enjoyable enough of its type. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
