This book is fine, but certainly not unusually good. It contains five brief chapters with lots of illustrations set into the text. Chapter 5: Galaxies of Life is a discussion of "The Drake Equation" which is not an equation and always seems to lack units. At 48 pages, the book is an adequate introduction to the whole topic for a younger audience.

The book asserts that the previous term for astrobiology was exobiology, but since studying life on earth is part of understanding life on other planets, it was renamed astrobiology. I think the scientists should have stuck to exobiology until they found some biology elsewhere. ( )
