I like this book because of the layout and the order. The layout of the book is great because it allows your eye to scan the whole page and read individual sentences rather than a whole paragraph. This can be helpful with younger students who may be intimidated by a page full of text. I also like the order of the book. It goes from season to season on the farm, so not only is the reader learning about farming but also about seasons and how farming varies during each season. The purpose of this book is to inform. This book is and informational book because it teaches about different chores on the farm during the four different seasons. The pictures are colorful ans match tthe text well. ( )

SUMMARY: This book is a book that describes what is typically grown on a farm and how the outdoor jobs change that need to be done as the seasons change. It also describes the different kinds of farming.

REVIEW: The central message of this book was to inform the reader about farming and the work that is put into farming. I liked that the pages were broken up into sections and each section had a different piece of information about a specific topic. For example, on the different types of farming page, one box has dairy farms and says, "Dairy farms raise cows for their milk. The milk is sold to dairies where it is processed and packaged." The illustration is of cows.
