Wonderful story of lasting bonds. A brother and sister find a goose decoy in the marsh near their home. They take it home and one day she talks to them. She tells them her story of migrating with her mate and her fall from the sky. She became a decoy and was seperated from her mate. She taught the children to fly and they found her mate and brought him to her. She came back to life and she and her mate flew away.

Such a sweet story. I love how informational it is and entertaining at the same time. My favorite part is when the two geese find each other again because Canada Geese mate for life. The fact section at the end is great.

I would use this story when learning about migrating patterns of birds. Charting their migration on a map would give them a visual of just how far the geese fly. Young children could imitate flying in a V like the geese for a large muscle activity.
