Story set in 1920s. Immigrant australian woman Emily, in Paris with new husband.Husband obsessed with designing Sydney bridge.She trying to find something that is"her"--something that will define her outside of being mother or wife.Visits Tunisia while pregnant[after a liason with a priest] and meets role model woman and becomes interested in historical stories.Begins research, finds herself and eventuallu abandons husband and child to fulfill herself and intellectual needs.Thought provoking and easy read.Enjoyed!
