Brian Lumley is one of my favorite authors and this book just adds another reason. It goes places that you never imagined leaving questions unanswered and leaving the reader longing for more. IMO this is one of his best. ( )
An early Lumley story. He could have stretched this out into something totally epic. A good read though. Seems like much of this was probably left on the editors floor. What a shame. If this would have been about 800 pages, and the loose ends would have been tied up it would have been right on par. ( )
The London part was entirely unnecessary and the end was just random. I was well engaged but by the time I finished this whole story was just a mess. Upon finishing I set the book down thoroughly unsatisfied.
A nice read for fans of Brian Lumley. Has bubbling vats in the dungeons of magnificent buildings and necromancers before the Necroscope series was written. Seems like half the story was left out of it. ( )
