Death Valley: A Day in the Desert brought the reader straight into one of the hottest places on earth. Hardly any rain falls in Death Valley, but it is still home to many animals. I learned multiple facts about Death Valley while reading this book. I did not know that the ground of Death Valley would melt the rubber off of a pair of sneakers! I enjoyed learning about the different animals as well. The pocket mice and kangaroo rats are smart for living in deep tunnels underground. This allows them to stay cool in the desert. This book would be a good addition to a science lesson on deserts. I would use this book to help my students create their own Death Valley using a shoe box and art supplies. ( ) In a few words you get an insight into one of the driest places in the United States. Death Valley is a well-known place by everybody but only a few have traveled there. This book tells about the difficulties for plants and trees to grow there since it is too dry and hot. Also animals there have a hard time to survive and can only look for food at night. The illustrations in the book give a further insight into the fascinating area of the Mojave Desert. Death Valley was a great book for teaching children about the desert. This book would be a great addition to a lesson about the different environments in our world. This book included many pictures and examples of plants and animals that can survive in the harsh desert atmosphere. This book also has a lot of factual information about the desert, and illustrations that really help you to imagine and picture what living in a desert environment might really be like. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
