In this colorful book Alfie learns, after trying many ways that don't work, the best way to get a freshly baked cookie from his mother.

In the story,“May I Please Have a Cookie” by Jennifer Morris, Alfie loves his mother’s cookies more than anything. He tries to think of creative ways to get a cookie from his mother, until he finally realizes that he just needs to ask politely! The moral of this story is to remind its readers that the best way to get something that you want is to ask politely. Alfie spent so much time trying to trick his mother into letting him have a cookie, when he could have just asked the first time. ( )

This is a wonderful story about learning manners. Alfie the Alligator wants some of the cookies that his mom has just baked. Alfie wants to just grab one, but his mom tells Alfie to think of other ways to get a cookie besides grabbing. After several funny attempts, Alfie soon realizes that politeness and manners will garner him a fresh baked cookie ( )
