The illustrations and simple phrases make this figure of speech very approachable for many age groups. It is also a great way to get students to think of words in a new way. When students realize that they are already familiar with so many oxymorons, this book will help to encourage them to think of some they know. This book also encourages illustrations for visual learners. "Jumbo Shrimp" may seem like a more elementary book, but it would serve as a perfect mentor text. ( )

An Oxymoron is the combination of two contradictory words like: jumbo-Shrimp, freezer-burn, old-news, original-copy, sharp-curves, pretty-ugly, easy-problem. This book is so intriguing. Great way to teach kids the definiton of oxymoron. ( )

Interesting book. Nothing I would really reccommend to children. Some of the illustrations are humorous but nothing too thrilling. ( )
