My children found the story of Goldilocks delightful for so many reasons. The trespassing little girl, who barges into the bears' house with no invitation and she doesn’t only snoop around, but she also eats the all the little bear’s food. The suspense of wondering whether the girl will get caught and the repeated lines about the three bears with their three distinct voices, bowls, chairs, and beds further make the tale so special and attractive for young children. Penny Ives retells the popular tale in a very beautiful way. The only thing that I did not like was the expression facile of the girl when the three bears find her on the little bear’s bed. The illustration shows a smiley face instead of surprising, shock or scary face. ( )

The three bears go for a walk so that their porridge can cool but when they come back someone at their porridge, broke a chair, and slept in their beds and she's still there! This is the classic story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. ( )

As a child, I loved this story. Mama, Papa, and baby bear make pooridge but it is too hot to eat so they go on a walk. When they come back, they notice someone had been in their house and eat their pooridge and sat on their chairs, and some girl was sleeping in their bed. When Goldilocks awoke to baby bear's voice, she ran out of the window and never came back. ( )

Goldilocks and the Three Bears by Penny Ives is a fun new version of the classic story. The three bears couldn’t have their breakfast just yet since it was too hot, so they went out for a walk. That is when Goldilocks snuck into the house. She first tried big bears porridge, but it was too hot. Then she went for mother bears porridge, and that was too cold. Finally she tried Baby bears porridge, and it was just perfect. The same went for the chairs, she only likes baby bears chair, but she broke it. So Goldilocks got tired and she went up to the room to take a nap. She again only liked baby bear’s bed, but that is when the bear family came back home and realized that someone had been in their home. They went up stairs to find Goldilocks in baby bear’s bed. When Goldilocks seen the bears she ran out before the bears can catch her. ( )

This was a wonderful classic. Surprisingly after reading this book to my daughter my husband told me he had never heard of it. This means that it should be read to children of all ages, we need to keep the classics alive. ( )
