A bitingly comic novel about twisted sibling relationships, selective memory and the persistance of love. When Michelle Schafer receives an invitation to "A Blast From The Past" party to be held in the suburban home in which she and her siblings were raised (a house that was sold after her parents' death close to twenty years ago) she wonders if her brother Joel, an obscenely wealthy Hollywood screenwriter, has finally crossed the line from amusingly eccentric to disturbingly weird. With a great deal of trepidation, Michelle -- an agoraphobic who suffers from panic attacks -- leaves the safety of her Winnipeg apartment and journeys to Toronto to attend the event with her sister Marla. They discover that the old family home has been meticulously restored to look exactly as it had in the 1970s, and that Joel has hired two look-alike actors to play their parents at this peculiar reunion. Moving back and forth in time, seamlessly weaving together fragments of the past and the present, Then Again unlocks the keys to the blackly  comic history of the Schafer family -- with some surprising results.… (plus d'informations)

I knew that my brother was peculiar—my entire family was peculiar—but when I received an invitation to a "Blast From the Past" party to be held at the suburban home in which we were raised, I couldn't help feeling that perhaps he had finally crossed the line from amusingly eccentric to disturbingly weird.
