read in children's lit; even though i knew the plot, it got me. a non-cheesy sad kids book.

A story about a girl who grows up with a cat and how they become best friends. We follow the cat from his first venture into the family until his death. Good for determining importance- what is the importance of their cat and his relationship with the girl? Why does she call him Desser? How do you think the family feels when Dexter passes?

This book is about a family who gets a kitten, the kitten grow into a cat and lives a long life. Then the cat dies but then the family gets a new kitten to love.
