“God sent Hosea to remind Israel of the deep and faithful love of God for his unfaithful people. Joel issued his call to repentance during a plague of locusts and reminded God's people of the coming Messiah. Amos warned of the judgment that would come to all who abandoned the Lord's promises.” From https://www.goodreads.com

The People's Bible Commentary is just what the name implies -- a Bible and commentary for the people.
The Bible does not mention the prophet Hosea outside his own book. There he calls himself "son of Beeri" (1:1) to distinguish him from other Israelites with the same given name. ... his name ... means "salvation," (Hosea)
Besides the fact that he was the "son of Pethuel" (1:1), we know nothing about the person of the prophet Joel. His name means "the Lord is God." (Joel)
Many of the prophets chosen by the Lord to be his spokesmen did not put their messages into writing. ... Amos, on the other hand, like Hosea and Joel, left us the whole message of his ministry in the book he wrote. His name does not occur elsewhere in the Old Testament. (Amos)

The Lord promises. "I will heal their waywardness and love them freely, for my anger has turned away from them" (14:4). In Christ that promise is fulfilled. He covers our sins with his own perfect righteousness. All the ways of the Lord are right. Let us walk in them!
"Now the dwelling of God is with men; and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away" (Revelation 21:3,4). Waiting in hope for that day of the Lord we pray, "Come Lord Jesus!" (Revelation 22:20)
God made us his own by redeeming us from all sins through the blood of his Son. We enjoy all the blessings of Jesus Christ in his everlasting kingdom. May we serve the Lord our God with pure hearts in his church on earth and praise him forever in heaven. (Amos)
