This is a nice series of photographs and essays on the different stages of the Klondike Goldrush. I read this while hiking the Chilkoot Pass trail as a reference point for different stops along the way. The photographs are reproduced fairly well and there are a lot of telling details that one can pick out if you know what to look for. There are however a couple of "false incline" pictures that were taken at an angle to make the pass look more steep than actually is. I thought this was funny because I can imagine the photo journalist hiking all the way up there and seeing that it isn't really that bad and knowing that his photograph was going to look a little dinky, so he just tilted a little to the right and bingo, a super steep trail. Anyway, if you are about to hike the Chilkoot trail or even visit Dawson City, this is a nice little primer to add perspective to your trip. ( ) aucune critique | ajouter une critique
