It isn't the first time that identical twins Gillian and Melina Lloyd have switched identities. Melina, the more impetuous twin, proposes that her circumspect sister take her place as a media escort to NASA astronaut and national hero Colonel Christopher "Chief" Heart. Although it's an enticing offer, Gillian declines for a very personal reason. Besides, she warns Melina, such a switch could have unexpected consequences. Media-savvy Chief turns out to be an easy assignment for Melina. But the following morning, police arrive at Melina's door with the worst possible news: her beloved twin has been murdered, and on the walls, scrawled in blood, are obscenities directed at Gillian, along with insults that indisputably link Chief to the crime. Dissatisfied with the official police investigation, Chief and Melina form a grudging alliance. Striking out on their own, they uncover more questions than answers, and are eventually led to the threshold of an inner sanctum, where a megalomaniac lies in wait for Gillian's replacement, her identical twin -- Melina. A story that reveals the powerful, almost mystical bond between twins -- bond that compels a woman to go to impossible lengths to avenge her sister, The Switch defies every prediction.… (plus d'informations)

Please see all of my reviews on my blog at www.robinlovesreading.com.

They did it when they were kids, so what harm would it cause now? Gillian and Melina Lloyd decided to switch places when Melina was assigned to escort astronaut, Christopher “Chief” Hart, at a publicity event. Things turned out quite horribly. Sadly, Gillian was brutally murdered after returning home.

Melina is devastated, quite naturally. One of the reasons is she feels that it should’ve been her not Gillian. She feels this way not only due to switching places, but also due to the horrific messages painted on the walls where her twin was murdered.

Chief and Melina become reluctant partners, in large part, this is due to the fact that a Chief was the last person to see Gillian alive. Through no fault of their own, they had become embroiled in something mysterious and potentially dangerous.

This certainly is no cut-and-dried mystery. The reason for the brutal murder is due to incredibly nefarious and far-reaching reasons. The story is built on several levels, with a diabolical tale that has affected many lives. The element of danger and suspense never lets up, not even for a minute. All the while the emotions that are shared between Melina and Chief have an undeniable intensity.

The twists and turns are top-notch and comes with a lot of guesswork. I absolutely loved what has been done in this story in terms of plot and how it lends itself to keep readers guessing.

This is not the first time that I have read this mesmerizing book. Each time I have read it I still found it just as captivating. Amazingly, I read this 512-page book from cover-to-cover in one sitting. I look forward to continuing to read books by this favored, prolific author. I highly recommend this book to those who enjoy thrillers. The Switch is an excellent way to showcase the talent of Sandra Brown for new readers of hers.

Many thanks to Grand Central Publishing for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion. ( )

Over the top murder mystery with an fertility clinic back story and a Jim Jones type Religious Cult having a far reach that was pretty far fetched. ( )

The Switch by Sandra Brown
Lawson was in town and had set up a date escort with Maleena. Problem is it was Jillian who had showed up. The girls are identical twins and Maleena needed a night off.
Mercenaries, stock market agents, FBI agents, Cult like organizations are all in this book.
This fast paced and interesting to see what's going to happen and how it involved them all.
Sides have changed and now there's a goal to just survive.
Medical records come to the rescue at the very end to solve all the questions.
Love the different places I was taken to in this book. ( )

Though you'll figure out most of the story by Chapter 4, Sandra Brown takes you for a wild ride! There are more twists and turns in this book than on the Loch Ness Monster at Busch Gardens. Brown seems to have decided to write fast-paced, romantic thrillers as of late; but that seems only logical since she has written well over 200 individual titles. Her knack for keeping you guessing in this book earns a solid 4 stars. ( )
