Lo que comenzo siendo un agradable día familiar para Jess, joven madre, se convierte en una pesadilla, su marido e hijo desaparecen Thriller about the search for a vanished baby. When Jessica Finnegan's husband suggested they take in a new display at the Tate Museum, she was delighted that her workaholic husband join her and their infant son for a holiday. But Jessica became separated from Mick and the baby, and it seemed they had vanished into thin air. Then Mick was found, beaten and unconscious. But where was baby Louis? Nicely suspenseful and twisty, with a heroine both flawed and resilient. The perceptive reader will have sussed most of it out by the climax, but it's an intriguing trip. I was looking for a creepy nanny book (such as The Hand that Rocks the Cradle) when I came upon this. First of all, this is not a creepy nanny story at all, it is a straight mystery. I was so put off by this book that I looked for a summery online so that I wouldn't have to finish the book. I didn't find a summery but I read a review by someone that had the same problems with the book that I did - unlikable characters, inappropriate responses to a mother whose baby has just disappeared (basically - relax please!) and inappropriate endearments from the police officer. I was amused by the last paragraph of the review where the reviewer stated that as much as they disliked the book, they felt they had to finish to find out what happened to the baby. And that's where I am - speed reading through the last 350 pages to find out what happened to the baby. Although this was rather long in length, I absolutely loved it. The character of Jessica was very well written. Jessica's son is kidnapped at the Tate Museum and her husband found beaten in an alley. The lengths Jessica goes to find her son. Things and people are not always what they seem as Jessica soon finds out. Det Silver does everything he can to help find Jessica's son Luis and in doing so they develop a rapport. I wished the author would have developed this more. But again this was a very good story esp. finding out who kidnapped her son and why. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
