See my reviews of the main textbook 6th and 7th editions. This is very well put together, comprehensive, nicely varied. My appreciation for Wheelock's increases over the years, although with the usual caveats expressed in those other reviews. ( )

I have never written on the pages of the book, but rather kept a separate note pad of answers with the book. This lets me use it as a refresher every few years, since there's no other good way to keep skills in Latin fresh.

If you have the key, then you're ahead of the game, but it's an excellent supportive resource in either case. It isn't for everyone, though. After reading reviews on Amazon, there were several that seemed very frustrated (and not just over the lack of an answer key).

This workbook is most useful in either a classroom setting, or with a determined student. I like it, but I already knew Latin when I bought it. I may have felt differently if I were new, and trying to learn on my own. For those who are home schooling, and who have at least a passing familiarity with Latin themselves, will find this resource very useful, and I recommend it to them.

Getting access to the answer key for the workbook (and for Wheelock's sixth and seventh editions, and for Scribblers, Sculptors,, and Scribes), was easy, but a gentle word of warning. They require that either you provide access to your Kindle account (or other e-reader), or else that you download Adobe Digital Editions. I'm not a huge fan of DRM, but understand it in this case. I suppose.

This workbook is useful with or without the answer key, but far more helpful to have it than not. ( )

Preface | This workbook, ancillary to Wheelock's Latin Grammar, has been developed especially for high-school and college students and any private-study individuals who, as a result of a somewhat limited linguistic experience, may desire the extra auxiliary guidance and discipline provided by the written exercises of this book.
